Our team of volunteers play a crucial part in helping to deliver our services to our clients.


You don’t have to be a health professional, or have any specific skills or experience, to volunteer at Headway Bedford – our volunteers come from a diverse range of backgrounds with a wide range of experience and skills. All you need is a friendly and positive approach; desire to help others and of course time.


In return we will offer you all the training, support, advice and guidance you will need to help you in your volunteer role and equip you with the skills to work with clients with a brain injury.

We’re currently in need of the following types of volunteers:

Volunteer Opportunities

Here are some of the key types of roles filled by volunteers at Headway Bedford:

  • Enablers – providing general help, advice and support to our clients
  • Skills Transfer – teaching new practical skills to our clients (eg. cooking, domestic chores, computing, gardening, etc.)
  • Office Help – helping us with administration, marketing, finance, accounts, etc.
  • Fundraisers –helping us to raise money.
